In a nod to the team’s inaugural 1979-1980 season, the Edmonton Oilers unveiled their Reverse Retro Alternate jerseys to be worn for designated rivalry games during the 2020-2021 season. Wearing these all white uniforms definitely bolstered the play of the Oilers and Connor McDavid as they went undefeated while skating in them with impressive wins over the Toronto Maple Leafs and the Vancouver Canucks, twice. Overall, McDavid tallied five points in the three reverse retro games, including a two goal performance on January 30, 2021 in which he scored his second to give the Oilers a 4-3 OT victory over the rival Maple Leafs.
